Oct 20, 2015 — by emachado | Comments (0)

One of the most heartbreaking aspects of speaking to individuals who are injured is the sadness and stress that accompanies the injuries.  Injuries in car accidents, construction accident and medical malpractice incidents cause individuals to experiences a range of physical, mental and emotional changes.  We understand this and appreciate the complications that our clients are experiencing.

Our experienced attorneys will explore with you what these changes entail.  For example, a big change might be a mother or father of small children who need extra help to care for the children after an injury.  Missing work may result in lost wages.  When you consider and compare a person's daily activities before and after an injury, there are often little things that add up!

At some level, even if we don't give it much thought, we might expect that we will be able to "say our goodbyes" to our loved ones before our or their final days on this earth.  In circumstances involving wrongful death cases, for many families, the circumstances surrounding their deaths are completely unexpected.  Wrongful death destroys the plans for a father to walk his daughter down the aisle or for a couple to grow old together

There are few words to describe the physical, emotional and historical magnitude of the September 11th terrorist attacks.  The years that have gone by have not made it easier to find words to describe unimaginable human suffering at the hands of terrorists who intentionally harmed our country and its people.

We will never forget and we remember.

Medical malpractice: was there a breach in the standard of care?

Sep 8, 2015 — by emachado | Comments (0)

No doubt, American hospitals are the site of miracles happening every day.  At some point in our lives, it is likely that we will all be participants in the medical system.  Most of the time, this participation is not planned.  No one plans for a trip to the emergency room in an ambulance following a car accident.  We are grateful that the healing that is offered in our hospitals is available to us.  The doctors, nurses and medical staff are generally working hard to heal you.  Unfortunately, sometimes there is a breach in the standard of care and medical malpractice takes place.  We go to a hospital in an effort to heal, not to suffer additional harm.

Sep 1, 2015 — by emachado | Comments (0)

At Rubin, Machado and Rosenblum, our personal injury attorneys are well-versed in the technicalities of the law and we use our experience to our clients' advantage.  We are incredibly experienced in litigating cases involving automobile accidents, cyclist and pedestrian injuries.  The City of Chicago has undertaken efforts to improve safety for those who use the roadways, crosswalks and sidewalks.  On any given street in Chicago and in the suburbs, the liability of a municipality depends on where the incident occurs and what the relationship is between the municipality and the injured party.  For example, when we meet with you after you contact us for a free consultation regarding your personal injury case, we will ask you specifically where the incident occurred so that we can have a better understanding of your case and the legal issues involved.
